The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Amauri Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amauri Monteiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, Cumiranga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Gilmar Cabral struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Egídio Abraão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oiti EC. Egídio Abraão came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Oiti EC's Paulinho Trigo. But to his dismay, Paulinho Trigo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 22ndth minute of the game Paulinho Trigo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cumiranga's Egídio Abraão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st minute, Paulinho Trigo made a precise shot to the right of Egídio Abraão. Cumiranga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The supporters of Cumiranga booed when Oiti EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulinho Trigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulinho Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egídio Abraão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomé Matorin in the 39th minute of the match. Cumiranga's Egídio Abraão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinho Trigo in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cumiranga's zone, Gilmar Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egídio Abraão came out of the goal and Gilmar Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, Oiti EC's Paulinho Trigo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egídio Abraão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Egídio Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulinho Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Gilmar Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amauri Monteiro was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Amauri Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruninho Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomé Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Cumiranga's Egídio Abraão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Cumiranga from getting a goal against them. Oiti EC's Paulinho Trigo got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilmar Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Egídio Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64th play minutes Paulinho Trigo shot 0-5, a short shot which went by Egídio Abraão and just under the crossbar into goal. If Paulinho Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Oiti EC's Gilmar Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulinho Trigo in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Egídio Abraão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Oiti EC's Paulinho Trigo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Egídio Abraão. That made the score 0-7 after 81 minutes of play. A long shot from Tomé Matorin in the 86th minute of play was well struck, but Egídio Abraão made a really good save at the right post. 88 minutes into the match, Cumiranga's goalkeeper Egídio Abraão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulinho Trigo.
