But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Romero couldn't finish the play. Luiz Fabiano Goiano took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hélio Antunes. Hélio Antunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 20th minute, Vivaldo Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Maria Siqueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelinho Mendes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Mendez AD's goalkeeper Hélio Antunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisão Coutinho. Marcus Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luisão Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luisão Coutinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Hélio Antunes made a huge save. União Feminina's Luiz Fabiano Goiano got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Marcus Romero came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the União Feminina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Romero couldn't finish the play. 37 minutes into the match, Luisão Coutinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hélio Antunes. Mendez AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisão Coutinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and César Koehler made a kick off. Marcus Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Luisão Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Antunes having to interfere. Hélio Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fabiano Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 64 minutes, Luisão Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. União Feminina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisão Coutinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
