The audience was convinced that Ramón Dionísio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Augusto Mangueira was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Dinei J.J. fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Augusto Mangueira having to interfere. Pedro Augusto Mangueira made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Dinei J.J. sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute, Nicolas Saldanha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Augusto Mangueira. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 24th minute Silvinho Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samir Hennequin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinei J.J. struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Pedro Augusto Mangueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varginha Futebol Clube. 31 minutes into the match, Varginha Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Silvinho Medeiros came free, but Samir Hennequin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Varginha Futebol Clube's Dinei J.J. nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilberto Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Samir Hennequin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

53 minutes into the match, Nicolas Saldanha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Augusto Mangueira. Jacus's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolas Saldanha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Jacus's Horácio Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvinho Medeiros during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jacus's Silvinho Medeiros got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Jacus's zone, Ramón Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Augusto Mangueira came out of the goal and Ramón Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th match minute, Jacus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Rosado to maneuver through the defense. Dinei J.J. sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicolas Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Silvinho Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dinei J.J. recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Nicolas Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Varginha Futebol Clube's Samir Hennequin got control of the ball when Silvinho Medeiros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Augusto Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Dionísio in the 98th minute of the match.
