In the 10th minute, Gonçalo Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gonçalo Cardozo during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ramón Dionísio spun around in front of the goal 14 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of FC Barcelona's goal. Varginha Futebol Clube's Samir Hennequin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Sebzda in the 46th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Varginha Futebol Clube's zone, Sebastian Sebzda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samir Hennequin came out of the goal and Sebastian Sebzda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the referee ended the match the Varginha Futebol Clube players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
