Gustavo Bittencourt in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edinho dos Santos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Toninho Lopes struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Márcio Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itatiayassu. In the 12th minute Pedro Augusto Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A very nice done corner allowed Tiago Gabriel Ceresso to score against Márcio Fontes in Santos FC's goal. 0-1 after 20 minutes. 33 minutes into the match, Itatiayassu's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Augusto Loureiro came free, but Edinho dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Márcio Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Toninho Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Itatiayassu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Lopes couldn't finish the play. After 46 minutes of play, Itatiayassu's Toninho Lopes made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Márcio Fontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Santos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Itatiayassu were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tiago Gabriel Ceresso to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Caco Camargo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiago Gabriel Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Márcio Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santos FC's Márcio Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago Gabriel Ceresso in the 55th minute of play. Márcio Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Gabriel Ceresso in the 58th minute of play. Tiago Gabriel Ceresso was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 62nd minute. Itatiayassu's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Tiago Gabriel Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Itatiayassu's Tiago Gabriel Ceresso in the 77th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Márcio Fontes was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Santos FC through an amazing save. Tiago Gabriel Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Márcio Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caco Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 86 minutes in the game, Tiago Gabriel Ceresso fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Márcio Fontes having to interfere. After having played for 88 minutes, Toninho Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itatiayassu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edinho dos Santos came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Santos FC's Gustavo Bittencourt. But to his dismay, Gustavo Bittencourt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Itatiayassu's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
