In the 18th minute, Fabrício de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, AC Mariana's Luizão de Medeiros tried to score from far away in the 18th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Roberto getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Fabrício de Amorim hit a great ball. Mário da Silveiras short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Vicente Maciel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A hard shot 32 in the game by Mário da Silveira from a close distance when the talented Vicente Maciel managed to make a qualified save. AC Mariana's players were relieved. Yuri Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Yuri Favoretto took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Vicente Maciel to make any attempt to save it. Haroldo de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Régis Ramos made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mário da Silveira in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vicente Maciel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd match minute, Roberto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Penha to maneuver through the defense. Roberto's Nilton Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Régis Ramos in the 63rd minute of play. In the 67th minute, Yuri Favoretto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vicente Maciel was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. 71 minutes into the match, Mário da Silveira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vicente Maciel. AC Mariana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mário da Silveira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 75 minutes into the game, Yuri Favoretto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Vicente Maciel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Yuri Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Vicente Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in AC Mariana's zone, Mário da Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Maciel came out of the goal and Mário da Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as AC Mariana's Haroldo de Carvalho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nilton Alagoano. That made the score 5-1 after 87 minutes of play. Mário da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Vicente Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roberto. Benê Berger hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Yuri Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Maciel having to interfere. Yuri Favoretto struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Vicente Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roberto.
