An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Bittencourt in the 27th minute of play forced Altinho's goalkeeper Wesley Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Guarda's goal looked a bit too open when Cesinha Aparecido came free, but Armandinho Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hermínio Loyola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armandinho Cerezo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. If Hermínio Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermínio Loyola hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Altinho had won after a very even match.
