Jean Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haroldo Mangueira charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haroldo Mangueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes FLAMENGO FC. got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Mangueira. 15 minutes into the match, Jorginho Quirino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean Leme. FLAMENGO FC.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorginho Quirino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 17th match minute, Cacarongonga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Brasil to maneuver through the defense. Jean Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Hermes in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FLAMENGO FC.'s zone, Jorginho Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Leme came out of the goal and Jorginho Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorginho Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Jean Leme managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Cacarongonga's Jorginho Quirino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 40thth minute of the game André Hermes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FLAMENGO FC.'s Jean Leme was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jean Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Hermes's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Augusto de Medeiros to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when André Hermes came free, but Jean Leme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jean Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Augusto de Medeiros in the 56th minute of play forced Cacarongonga's goalkeeper Otávio Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Maria Pena struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Otávio Meireles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FLAMENGO FC.. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Silas Vergílio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FLAMENGO FC.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cacarongonga the free kick. After 63 played minutes FLAMENGO FC. got a freekick which was hit by Silas Vergílio. After a defensive mix-up in FLAMENGO FC.'s zone, Jorginho Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Leme came out of the goal and Jorginho Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. André Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th match minute, FLAMENGO FC. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes FLAMENGO FC. got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Furtado. André Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gonçalo da Silveira hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. José Maria Penas short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Otávio Meireles to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jean Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorginho Quirino in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jean Leme saved FLAMENGO FC. from getting behind. Jean Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Quirino in the 89th minute of play. André Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to FLAMENGO FC. getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Luiz Fábio Vale hit a great ball. Evandro Saraiva, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jorginho Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cacarongonga walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
