In the 35th minute, Felippe Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Teixeira in the 38th minute of play forced Culminante SC's goalkeeper Victor Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisinho Pimenta in the 40th minute of play forced Janduis SS's goalkeeper Christiano Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christiano Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Diogo Pena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, one of Janduis SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Janduis SS. Luiz Fabiano Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiano Viana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Fabiano Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Serafim de Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiano Viana having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Janduis SS's Marcos Donatello got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute, Serafim de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Culminante SC booed when Janduis SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Adolfo Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball.
