The Cavaru players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. MZ .Cosmópolis were winning 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dagoberto Vidal to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Fabio Mas sped through Cavaru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Waldemar Hermes. When Dagoberto Vidal fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cavaru's protests and gave Dagoberto Vidal a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Mas in the 63rd minute of play forced Cavaru's goalkeeper Waldemar Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waldemar Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Tande in the 65th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Adalberto Tande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldemar Hermes was relentless in the 67th minute of the game.
