Waldemar Hermes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 18 minutes into the match, Cavaru's goal looked a bit too open when Juarês Massa came free, but Waldemar Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldemar Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Massa in the 22nd minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juarês Massa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When José Pedro Vasconcelos fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cavaru's protests and gave José Pedro Vasconcelos a yellow card for diving instead. Conrado Marinho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Waldemar Hermes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Conrado Marinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Waldemar Hermes having to make a save. 89 minutes into the match, Cavaru's goalkeeper Waldemar Hermes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conrado Marinho. After a defensive mix-up in Cavaru's zone, Cláudio Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar Hermes came out of the goal and Cláudio Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Alcantara could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cavaru throughout the match.
