The referee ignored Galaxy Campinas's protests and gave Ronaldo Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. Ronaldo Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Galaxy Campinas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Edmundo Hermes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Galaxy Campinas's supporters rose to their feet, but Wanderson Guerra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerson de Godoy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredinho Tinoco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute.
