After 2 played minutes Pé de Calo MZ Club got a freekick which was hit by Anderson de Amorim. 3 minutes into the game, Virmond SS's Cafu Lopez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robinho Maia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Joel Moura hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the match, Kaká Lima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robinho Maia. Pé de Calo MZ Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaká Lima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Caco Leite took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robinho Maia. Robinho Maia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Arnaldo Barreto charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnaldo Barreto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th match minute, Virmond SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Barreto to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pé de Calo MZ Club's goalkeeper Robinho Maia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 26th minute Kaká Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Pé de Calo MZ Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias Viana to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute Arnaldo Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pé de Calo MZ Club's zone, Kaká Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robinho Maia came out of the goal and Kaká Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cafu Lopez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Arnaldo Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Cafu Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Pé de Calo MZ Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Lopez came free, but Robinho Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robinho Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caco Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robinho Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu Lopez in the 42nd minute of play. Caco Leite's late challenge caught a Pé de Calo MZ Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caco Leite helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Virmond SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caco Leite to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Virmond SS were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cafu Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match, Cafu Lopez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Robinho Maia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Caco Leite struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Robinho Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Virmond SS. 61 minutes into the match, Pé de Calo MZ Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Lopez came free, but Robinho Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pé de Calo MZ Club's Joel Moura got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 71st match minute, Pé de Calo MZ Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias Viana to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute Claudinho Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudinho Fontes might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Robinho Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudinho Fontes ran back to his position shaking his head. Virmond SS made a substitution. Dráuzio Valadares replaced Bruno Alves. In the 79th minute Pedro Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Umberto Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Anderson de Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Pé de Calo MZ Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anderson de Amorim couldn't finish the play. Pé de Calo MZ Club's attentive Anderson de Amorim managed to snatch the ball when Dráuzio Valadares made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game. Dráuzio Valadares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Robinho Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robinho Maia was a little too slow when Claudinho Fontes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 0-6. When the match was over Virmond SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pé de Calo MZ Club throughout the match.
