The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Geovânio Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. With a little luck, Manguenza SS's Natanael Palmeira got control of the ball when Frank Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frank Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Natanael Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovanni Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 42 minutes, Frank Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moxoto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Trancoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Moxoto's Giovanni Messias managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Simão de Andrade in the 45 minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgard Quadros was the one to do the kick off. After 54 played minutes, Moxoto's Frank Trancoso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Natanael Palmeira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Moxoto reached it. Frank Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natanael Palmeira having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Manguenza SS got a freekick which was hit by Moisés Nascimento. Manguenza SS's Natanael Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Gaúcho in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Trancoso in the 64th minute of play forced Manguenza SS's goalkeeper Natanael Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Leonardo Gaúcho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Duarte Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Sampaio having to interfere. Frank Trancoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Natanael Palmeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Trancoso ran back to his position shaking his head. Moxoto's Frédson Trigo got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moxoto's Giovanni Messias quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Simão de Andrade, made in the 73rd minute of the game. Frank Trancoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 78th minute of the match Geovânio Pinheiro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Geovânio Pinheiro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 79 played minutes Moxoto got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio Pinheiro. Moxoto's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Edgard Quadros scored to the left of an out of position Edmundo Sampaio, making the score, 1-1. Edgard Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Leonardo Gaúcho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Moxoto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 94th minute Leonardo Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moxoto's Giovanni Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
