Paranhos Ariranha FC's Carlos Alberto de Azevedo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Elói Prata in the 23 minute of the game. If Carlos Alberto de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Elói Prata in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Paranhos Ariranha FC's Carlos Alberto de Azevedo. 35 minutes into the match, Paranhos Ariranha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Campidelis came free, but Teodoro Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, João Pedro Duarte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paranhos Ariranha FC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pedro Duarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Paulo do Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Alberto de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 42nd minute, João Pedro Duarte got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Jequie SS's goalkeeper Pedro Paulo do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Alberto de Azevedo. Zé Roberto Maciel hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Deivid Arantes scored 0-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teodoro Santana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Paranhos Ariranha FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jequie SS were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robinho Amorim made a kick off. In the 61st minute, Deivid Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paranhos Ariranha FC's Anísio Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Carlos Alberto de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robinho Amorim hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Jequie SS's Elói Prata got a free kick in the 73rd minute. The supporters of Jequie SS booed when Paranhos Ariranha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Pedro Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jequie SS's goalkeeper Pedro Paulo do Vale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 81 played minutes Jequie SS got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Donato. When Juvenal Carneiro fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paranhos Ariranha FC's protests and gave Juvenal Carneiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 86 played minutes Paranhos Ariranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Tião Tróia. In the 87th minute, Lauro Donato sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Paranhos Ariranha FC's Teodoro Santana didn't even have to move. Jequie SS's Pedro Paulo do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Massa in the 91st minute of play. Nelsinho Campidelis kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Josué Velloso hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. 98 minutes into the match, Conrado Massa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Jequie SS's Pedro Paulo do Vale. Pedro Paulo do Vale was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chants of Jequie SS echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Paranhos Ariranha FC had held the ball for most of the match.
