Sarandi E.C.'s Erivaldo Severo got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 8th minute, Sarandi E.C.'s Aílton Matos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Claudinho de Brito. Claudinho de Brito yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Gabriel Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aílton Matos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. Sarandi E.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gabriel Ceresso in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Claudinho de Brito, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aílton Matos during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aílton Matos hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. If Aílton Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Gabriel Ceresso fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Claudinho de Brito, passed just outside the right post. Claudinho de Brito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Ceresso went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. A hard shot 32 in the game by Gabriel Ceresso from a close distance when the talented Claudinho de Brito managed to make a qualified save. Xaxim's players were relieved. Aílton Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Claudinho de Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Claudinho de Brito successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 43 minutes into the match, Sarandi E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Olavo Carneiro came free, but Ronaldo Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Otávio de Azevedo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ronaldo Neto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cláudio Britto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ronaldo Neto. Sarandi E.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Olavo Carneiro got free with Ronaldo Neto in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Sarandi E.C. booed when Xaxim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Augusto Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute of the match Sarandi E.C. got a corner. Xaxim's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Erivaldo Severo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xaxim's Olavo Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Olavo Carneiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronaldo Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 76th match minute, Xaxim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Augusto Prestes to maneuver through the defense. After 78 minutes, Aílton Matos made it 3-2 with a short kick to the right side. Xaxim's Claudinho de Brito tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Aílton Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarandi E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Aílton Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho de Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute Rodolfo Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sarandi E.C.'s Ronaldo Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Dracena in the 88th minute of play. Rodolfo Dracena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Xaxim players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sarandi E.C..
