If João Valadares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, José Pedro Vaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Norberto Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 11 minutes into the game, Luiz Guilherme Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Universidade HT's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eldecano the free kick. In the 13th minute, Nilson Moreno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universidade HT fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 17th minute José Pedro Vaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 played minutes Universidade HT got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Guilherme Ribeiro. Norberto Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Pedro Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elias Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eldecano's José Pedro Vaz managed to work through Universidade HT's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. José Pedro Vaz dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elias Sabóia in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norberto Neto saved Universidade HT from getting behind. After 33 played minutes Eldecano got a freekick which was hit by João Valadares. When Eldecano's Elias Sabóia in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Universidade HT's goalie prevented a goal. When Luiz Guilherme Ribeiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 37 minutes had been played. The supporters of Eldecano booed when Universidade HT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Pedro Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Norberto Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elias Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alan Macedo's late challenge caught a Eldecano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elias Sabóia in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norberto Neto saved Universidade HT from getting behind. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Elias Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norberto Neto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elias Sabóia in the 58th minute. When Elias Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Eldecano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Sabóia couldn't finish the play. Elias Sabóia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Neto having to interfere. Norberto Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Vaz in the 73rd minute of the match. Norberto Neto made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Elias Sabóia sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Universidade HT's Alan Macedo got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute, José Pedro Vaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th match minute, Universidade HT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Macedo to maneuver through the defense. Elias Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Eldecano getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. José Pedro Vaz hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, José Pedro Vaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Elias Sabóia came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Eldecano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Sabóia couldn't finish the play. Eldecano were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Universidade HT to leave the ground with a draw.
