Caio Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Faria having to interfere. Bernardo Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Sílvio Luís da Costa made a precise shot to the right of Nilson Faria. Malhadas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

André Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nilson Faria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Maia's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Meridiano SC's Nico Dias suffered a concussion after 91 minutes and had to leave the field. When Téo Baiano fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malhadas's protests and gave Téo Baiano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd match minute, Malhadas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Baiano to maneuver through the defense. If Caio Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
