Despite this Sérgio Machado quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 5th minute Babalouco FC were awarded a corner. Wilton Botelho went to the cornerflag to take it. Wilton Botelho made a great header on Babalouco FC's corner, it was just that Champanha's Sérgio Machado managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 10th minute Alfredinho Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustavo Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Cordeiro having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Baltazar Damião ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Cordeiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredinho Garcia in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sérgio Machado saved Champanha from getting behind. 25 minutes into the game, Digo Lucas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Babalouco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Champanha the free kick. In the 25th minute, Digo Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Baltazar Damião put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Paulo Cordeiro. A collision led to Champanha getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Oséias Pitta hit a great ball. In the 39th minute of the match Mazinho Vianna sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo Cordeiro skillfully saved the ball. Paulo Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walton Eastman in the 45th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Babalouco FC's Walmyr Cavalcante got a free kick in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Wilton Botelho hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Paulo Cordeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Damião in the 84th minute of play. When Walton Eastman came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Champanha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walton Eastman couldn't finish the play. Walton Eastman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Paulo Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltazar Damião did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Paulo Cordeiro 90 minutes into the match. 100 minutes into the match, Babalouco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Baltazar Damião came free, but Paulo Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Babalouco FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Champanha were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
