Ingazeiras's Juvenal Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reginaldo Matos in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute, Ingazeiras's Erik Leal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Albertino Azevedo. Albertino Azevedo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 8 minutes into the game, Erik Leal threw the ball into play from the sideline. Garapua's Róbson Neves quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Garapua's Albertino Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Garapua from getting a goal against them. In the 15th minute, Anísio Custódio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albertino Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. With a little luck, Garapua's Albertino Azevedo got control of the ball when Frédson Toscano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute Reginaldo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mathias Veiga hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, Garapua's goalkeeper Albertino Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frédson Toscano. Juvenal Paraíba came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Garapua's Reginaldo Matos. But to his dismay, Reginaldo Matos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Albertino Azevedo came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Ingazeiras's Erik Leal. But to his dismay, Erik Leal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Albertino Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Rubens Cunha sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frédson Toscano was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Garapua's zone, Erik Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albertino Azevedo came out of the goal and Erik Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 53rd minute Anísio Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juvenal Paraíba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dênis Tasso in the 57th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Angelo do Nascimento notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Garapua's Albertino Azevedo. Albertino Azevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Albertino Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Leal in the 68th minute of the match. The supporters of Ingazeiras booed when Garapua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tibúrcio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dênis Tasso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Juvenal Paraíba made a huge save. Garapua's Albertino Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frédson Toscano in the 75th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Garapua's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Leal came free, but Albertino Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albertino Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frédson Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dênis Tasso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Juvenal Paraíba made a huge save. Elano Quintal was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 93 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, one of Garapua:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Garapua. In the 97th minute Frédson Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
