Milannal's Júnior Lucas got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Ajuda's Felipe Barreto got control of the ball when Agnaldo de Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Denílson Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Milannal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denílson Novaes couldn't finish the play. After 21 played minutes Milannal got a freekick which was hit by Igor Massa. Luiz Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Vides in the 22nd minute of play. When Fábio Paraíba fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ajuda's protests and gave Fábio Paraíba a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th minute, Fábio Paraíba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Milannal's Aírton Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Milannal's Luiz Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fábio da Rocha in the 30th minute of play. Walmir Vides might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Vander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walmir Vides ran back to his position shaking his head. If Luiz Fábio da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fábio da Rocha in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Vander saved Milannal from getting behind. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Felipe Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ajuda getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Frederico Velloso hit a great ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Agnaldo de Carvalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ajuda's Felipe Barreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Agnaldo de Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Milannal fans jumped to their feet.
