Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frédson Costa in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelson Nunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 8 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO SLP's Luís Fabiano Pernambucano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nelson Nunes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Júlio Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Veiga in the 11th minute of play. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind FLAMENGO SLP's goalkeeper Júlio Travassos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 22 played minutes Frois EC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Paraibano. Frois EC's Nelson Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Pernambucano in the 25th minute of play. If Luís Fabiano Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Vítor Faria struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Júlio Travassos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frois EC. Luís Fabiano Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Nunes having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frédson Costa in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelson Nunes saved Frois EC from getting behind. Luís Fabiano Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Frédson Costa made the kick off in the second half. Júlio Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Veiga in the 54th minute of the match. Júlio Travassos made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when José Vítor Faria sent off a good shot on target. Frédson Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Nunes having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Fabiano Pernambucano in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelson Nunes saved Frois EC from getting behind. José Augusto Simão hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Alberto Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frois EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio Travassos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Fabiano Pernambucano in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelson Nunes saved Frois EC from getting behind. In the 71st minute, Grigor Yurukov made a precise shot to the right of Nelson Nunes. Frois EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 78th minute, Osmar Bastos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FLAMENGO SLP's Júlio Travassos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save FLAMENGO SLP from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute Frédson Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Fabiano Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Nunes having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Frois EC's zone, Grigor Yurukov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelson Nunes came out of the goal and Grigor Yurukov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Frédson Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grigor Yurukov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Nelson Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FLAMENGO SLP's Frédson Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FLAMENGO SLP's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
