Fugida AD's Afonso Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Fábio Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tarcisio Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Vítor Paranaense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dito Machado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Alessandro Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fugida AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Rezende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dito Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dito Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Rezende in the 72nd minute of play. When Afonso Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Fugida AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Garcia couldn't finish the play.
