The referee ignored Olea EC's protests and gave Eriberto Valadares a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes Olea EC got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Valadares. In the 8th minute, Vicente Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 11 in the game by Percy Paiva from a close distance when the talented Roberto Moreira managed to make a qualified save. Olea EC's players were relieved. The supporters of Banabuiu booed when Olea EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olea EC's Roberto Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Fantini in the 66th minute of play. After 72 minutes, José Augusto Negri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olea EC and the Banabuiu players grew even worse after the yellow card. Banabuiu walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
