A collision led to Cruzeiro Oliveira MG getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jonas Vaz hit a great ball. If Waldir Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulão Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Martins in the 81st minute of play. A wasted opportunity for Juventus F.C. 87 minutes into the game, Victor Abraão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruzeiro Oliveira MG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juventus F.C the free kick.
