In the 3rd minute, one of Anointed MZB™:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Anointed MZB™. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Pereira in the 7th minute of play forced Anointed MZB™'s goalkeeper Ernesto Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldo Sarmento in the 14th minute of play forced Anointed MZB™'s goalkeeper Ernesto Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Dracena in the 15th minute of play forced Niteroi AD's goalkeeper Agostinho Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Dracena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Deivid Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Niteroi AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deivid Pereira couldn't finish the play. Claudinho Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Paiva having to interfere. In the 26th minute Francisco Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Vander hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Patrício Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Niteroi AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrício Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Niteroi AD's Deivid Pereira fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Niteroi AD's Agostinho Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Niteroi AD from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Niteroi AD's zone, Francisco Dracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agostinho Paiva came out of the goal and Francisco Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Deivid Pereira to strike the kick off in the second half. Ronaldo Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ernesto Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dé Paraense charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dé Paraense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Anointed MZB™ getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Dé Paraense hit a great ball. With splendid footwork Ronaldo Sarmento arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-2 by the left pole in the game's 59th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldo Sarmento got free with Ernesto Soares in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Niteroi AD's zone, Claudinho Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agostinho Paiva came out of the goal and Claudinho Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrício Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ernesto Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agostinho Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Sarmento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Soares. Anointed MZB™'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldo Sarmento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Deivid Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Soares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Deivid Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 93rd minute Claudinho Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agostinho Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deivid Pereira struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Ernesto Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Niteroi AD. The Niteroi AD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Niteroi AD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
