Claudinei Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patryk Mochadlo having to interfere. If Alberto Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Corinthians Champion booed when Separacao AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Paulinho Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corinthians Champion's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulinho Antunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Guilherme Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luiz Guilherme Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho Antunes in the 21st minute of play. Gerson Coutinho scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Guilherme Machado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paulinho Antunes, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Separacao AD getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Zé Pedro de Salles hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute Conrado Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Guilherme Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patryk Mochadlo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Claudinei Tavares showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 34 minute of play. Patryk Mochadlo came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Separacao AD's Alberto Brasil. But to his dismay, Alberto Brasil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Luiz Guilherme Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho Antunes in the 45th minute of the match. Conrado Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado Magalhães to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Conrado Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Guilherme Machado was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Separacao AD's zone, Paulinho Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Guilherme Machado came out of the goal and Paulinho Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
