Náutico's Zacarias Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dorian de Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C3 Esporte Clube MS's protests and gave Dorian de Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Náutico getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Benigno Nofre hit a great ball. Juan Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zacarias Linhares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Armandinho da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Zacarias Linhares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Náutico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Armandinho da Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juan Santos having to make a save. Zacarias Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Santos having to interfere. If Zacarias Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Zacarias Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Náutico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zacarias Linhares couldn't finish the play. Juan Santos came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Náutico's Zacarias Linhares. But to his dismay, Zacarias Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Alfredo Freire made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jefferson Pitta in the 32nd minute. After 34 minutes Náutico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Willian Mendonça who took care of the corner kick. Armandinho da Costa took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juan Santos. Juan Santos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 46th minute, Didi Toscano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Náutico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

53 minutes into the match, Zacarias Linhares notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of C3 Esporte Clube MS's Juan Santos. Juan Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 56 played minutes Náutico got a freekick which was hit by Benigno Nofre. Armandinho da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Armandinho da Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juan Santos was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 71st match minute, C3 Esporte Clube MS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Alfredo Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betinho Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After 79 played minutes C3 Esporte Clube MS got a freekick which was hit by Dorian de Amaral. When Jefferson Pitta fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C3 Esporte Clube MS's protests and gave Jefferson Pitta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Náutico booed when C3 Esporte Clube MS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armandinho da Costa in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Armandinho da Costa took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Juan Santos to make any attempt to save it. The C3 Esporte Clube MS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Náutico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
