Societat Sportiv VilaNova's Thanasis Tsitouras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luiz de Senna in the 25th minute of play. Nae Bălăiță's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geovânio Mendonça read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Paulo Renato Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Geovânio Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evandro Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nae Bălăiță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Mendonça having to interfere. When Isaac Vestberg came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Societat Sportiv VilaNova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaac Vestberg couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Pedro Luiz de Senna made the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the match, Nae Bălăiță notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Almeidas's Geovânio Mendonça.
