Gláuber Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Paes having to interfere. Erasmo Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SE CNB's Luiz Fabiano Goiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save SE CNB from getting a goal against them. Pássaro Negro de Joinvile's Erasmo Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Erasmo Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SE CNB's Luiz Fabiano Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Branco in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute, SE CNB's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joaquim Schmidt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luiz Fabiano Goiano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joaquim Schmidt went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Angelo Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fabiano Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Branco in the 35th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in SE CNB's zone, Joaquim Schmidt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fabiano Goiano came out of the goal and Joaquim Schmidt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gláuber Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dráusio Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Dráusio Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in SE CNB's zone, Erasmo Branco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fabiano Goiano came out of the goal and Erasmo Branco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erasmo Branco to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to SE CNB getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Cafu Matos hit a great ball. Angelo Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Paes having to interfere. Doriva Medeiros's late challenge caught a Pássaro Negro de Joinvile's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Doriva Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, SE CNB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doriva Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erasmo Branco in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Fabiano Goiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquim Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Goiano having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Esteves got free with Chicão Paes in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Pássaro Negro de Joinvile getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Conrado Terra hit a great ball. Joaquim Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Goiano having to interfere. SE CNB's Gláuber Dante got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Pássaro Negro de Joinvile fully deserved thier win.
