Agenor Luz might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Antunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agenor Luz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 18th minute, Wellington Almeida ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Antunes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wellington Almeida in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 22 minutes, Alessandro Abraão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester Brasil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Abraão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th match minute, Manchester Brasil FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Lucas to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clóvis Duarte in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodolfo Mattos saved Manchester Brasil FC from getting behind. Wellington Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Antunes having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Wellington Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Antunes was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. José Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wellington Almeida's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the game, Hugo de Sousa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rodolfo Mattos. Hugo de Sousa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Clóvis Duarte was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Brito in the 51st minute of play forced Maroba's goalkeeper José Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clóvis Duarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. José Antunes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agenor Luz went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wellington Almeida in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Antunes saved Maroba from getting behind. 65 minutes into the game, Hugo de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Rodolfo Mattos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Yan de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Antunes came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester Brasil FC's Pedrinho Brito. But to his dismay, Pedrinho Brito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Válter Teles kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. If Wellington Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Agenor Luz took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for José Antunes to make any attempt to save it. 88 minutes into the match, Fernandinho Lucas sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because José Antunes threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Fernandinho Lucas this time. 90 minutes into the game, Maroba's Célio Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodolfo Mattos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-5.
