Michel Guedes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vânderson Viana in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michel Guedes saved FANATICRUZ from getting behind. After a rather tough play, FANATICRUZ's Lenílson Trancoso got a free kick in the 34th minute. Michel Guedes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Acácio Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Palmacia booed when FANATICRUZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anselmo Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Vânderson Viana's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michel Guedes was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Acácio Dante stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Palmacia getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Victor Macedo hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Lenílson Trancoso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Percy Loyola was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Percy Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenílson Trancoso in the 68th minute of the match. Virgílio Penha's late challenge caught a Palmacia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Palmacia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
