To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cido Quadros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Carlos Pereira made a huge save. In the 33rd minute Artur Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Pereira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute of the match Valério Lopes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Pereira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Artur Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
