When Ulisses de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Itaperu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulisses de Castro couldn't finish the play. Hermínio de Lara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Naldo Sena hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Ulisses de Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Joaquim Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itaperu AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gustavo Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulisses de Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Naldo Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Naldo Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Naldo Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulisses de Castro in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustavo Goiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Itaperu AD were furious when Sidnei Tasso was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Itaperu AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! Itaperu AD:s Vânderson Berger showed great skill when he stopped Zeca Peixoto:s penalty. When Joaquim Teles came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Itaperu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Teles couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauan Meirelles in the 41st minute of play forced Itaperu AD's goalkeeper Vânderson Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelsinho Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermínio de Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Chicão Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Posangue's supporters rose to their feet, but Chicão Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vânderson Berger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Chicão Brodel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vânderson Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cauan Meirelles in the 68th minute. When Posangue's Chicão Brodel in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Itaperu AD's goalie prevented a goal. After 78 played minutes Itaperu AD got a freekick which was hit by Nelsinho Perez. When Joaquim Teles fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itaperu AD's protests and gave Joaquim Teles a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th minute, Joaquim Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vânderson Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Brodel, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Cauan Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Vânderson Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Itaperu AD players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
