The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tales Paraense during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomé Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd match minute, Gaujiru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilmar Santos in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Santos in the 36th minute of play forced Gaujiru's goalkeeper Carlos Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilmar Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Gaúcho having to interfere. Franklin Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adalberto Massa was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Capoeiras FC booed when Gaujiru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alex Lucas fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capoeiras FC's protests and gave Alex Lucas a yellow card for diving instead. Alex Lucas kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Adalberto Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Franklin Lara was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilmar Santos in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Gaúcho saved Gaujiru from getting behind. After having played for 74 minutes, Luís Munhoz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaujiru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Munhoz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Capoeiras FC's Franklin Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Massa in the 76th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Tomé Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capoeiras FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomé Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Gaúcho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Gaujiru's zone, Tomé Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Gaúcho came out of the goal and Tomé Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd play minute Tomé Mota came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Carlos Gaúcho. 3-1. Capoeiras FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
