The referee showed Frédson Tavares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Natividade SC's Frédson Tavares got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Raphael Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute Emanuel Madureira suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Hamílton Sampaio fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Natividade SC's protests and gave Hamílton Sampaio a yellow card for diving instead. Chicão Valle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu de Barros having to interfere. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Natividade SC's goalkeeper Edu de Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Barreto in the 28th minute of play forced Natividade SC's goalkeeper Edu de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Bonsucesso getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Carlos Barral hit a great ball. After 37 played minutes Bonsucesso got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Branco. Bonsucesso's Zé Paulo Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Penha in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to Bonsucesso getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Carlos Barral hit a great ball. Edu de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bonsucesso's zone, Claudinei Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo Melo having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Natividade SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bonsucesso had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
