Spectators: 6691 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 10) Túlio Figueiredo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Jeferson Fontes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 5 minutes, Júlio Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club de Fútbol Grêmio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeferson Fontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Túlio Figueiredo's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Jardel Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Tavares having to interfere. Gilberto Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute Túlio Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeferson Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Júlio Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Caridade!'s goalkeeper Jeferson Fontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Túlio Figueiredo. In the 26th match minute, Caridade! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André da Mata to maneuver through the defense. Duarte Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Club de Fútbol Grêmio fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Club de Fútbol Grêmio's Túlio Figueiredo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 34th minute Oséas Paraense suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 34 minutes into the game, Nildo Peres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caridade!'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club de Fútbol Grêmio the free kick. The supporters of Club de Fútbol Grêmio booed when Caridade! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Júlio Fontes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jeferson Fontes, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Caridade!'s zone, Túlio Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeferson Fontes came out of the goal and Túlio Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Paulo Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nildo Peres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jardel Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute, Nildo Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Gilberto Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club de Fútbol Grêmio's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeferson Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the match, Caridade!'s goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo Varela came free, but Jeferson Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th match minute, Club de Fútbol Grêmio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víktor Lara to maneuver through the defense. Caridade!'s Jeferson Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Fonseca in the 83rd minute of play. Júlio Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Caridade!'s Guga de Sousa got a free kick in the 85th minute. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Caridade!! The referee gave Club de Fútbol Grêmio a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Clóvis Arantes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Caridade!'s Jeferson Fontes. 2-0. Caridade!'s Nildo Peres got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Nildo Peres off the ground. After 96 played minutes Caridade! got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Peres. The attack was good, but when Túlio Figueiredo in the 97th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Club de Fútbol Grêmio walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
