The supporters of Piranguinho booed when Meaipe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleiton do Nascimento during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Meaipe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. Piranguinho's Corneliu Turbatu got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Betinho Jacinto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diogo do Vale was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-4 lead.

Diogo do Vale was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Wellington Veloso showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 52 minute of play. With his leg Diogo do Vale managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Piranguinho's Corneliu Turbatu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Diogo do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wellington Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Cleiton do Nascimento took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardinho Donato.
