Claudinei Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Passos having to interfere. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind K-lux City's goalkeeper Pedrinho Passos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Vítor da Mata made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Leopoldo Mineiro sent off a good shot on target. After 13 played minutes Passos got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Dantas. Romeu Quadros's late challenge caught a Passos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romeu Quadros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Francisco Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedrinho Passos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinei Araújo's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. If Claudinei Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in K-lux City's zone, Dênis Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrinho Passos came out of the goal and Dênis Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedrinho Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Passos defense, Francisco Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Vítor da Mata. The Passos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Vítor da Mata should have stopped the shot. Claudinei Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Pedrinho Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dênis Abraão to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinei Araújo got free with Pedrinho Passos in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudinei Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Passos having to interfere. In the 65th minute of the match Álvaro de Mendonça shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedrinho Passos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Passos's Claudinei Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to K-lux City getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Mané Domingues hit a great ball. When Dênis Abraão came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Passos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dênis Abraão couldn't finish the play.
