After 72 played minutes Astro MZ got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Guimarães. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by Roberto Rosado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 82nd minute Reynaldo Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcinho Botelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Paulo Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Astro MZ players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
