Napoleon Marchlewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eriberto Cosme having to interfere. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mucambo's goalkeeper Eriberto Cosme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Napoleon Marchlewicz had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Enio Viana charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enio Viana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FC Barcelona Junior's Paulo Faustino was substituted for Napoleon Marchlewicz. A collision led to FC Barcelona Junior getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Sebastian Gaitan hit a great ball. Enio Viana shot from long distance in the 23rd minute, but Gernando Seco was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. If Geovani Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Mucambo's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Eduardo Lopez came free, but Eriberto Cosme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Paulo Faustino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, FC Barcelona Junior's Gernando Seco got control of the ball when Dário Sá tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arí Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. If Júlio Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Júlio Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Barcelona Junior's Gernando Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Bittencourt in the 53rd minute of play. When Luiz Eduardo Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Barcelona Junior's protests and gave Luiz Eduardo Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. Dário Sá scored 1-2 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gernando Seco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Reginaldo Gonçalves took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Eriberto Cosme to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Mucambo's Oséias Costa got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, FC Barcelona Junior's Luiz Eduardo Lopez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. 90 minutes into the match, Mucambo's goalkeeper Eriberto Cosme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Faustino. After 91 played minutes Mucambo got a freekick which was hit by Kaká Bittencourt. Paulo Faustino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
