Edu Tróia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Sá in the 55th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Quadro's zone, Elano Sá stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Tróia came out of the goal and Elano Sá tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, João Francisco Porto made a precise shot to the right of Edu Tróia. Quadro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Elano Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Umberto Salgado struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Glauco Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Quadro. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Quadro. Basílio Fernandes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Glauco Guedes. 2-2. Arlindo da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glauco Guedes having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Elano Sá cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Edu Tróia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 89 played minutes Quadro got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Gonçalves. Umberto Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 95 minutes, Arlindo da Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quadro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arlindo da Mata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Carrara FC's Glauco Guedes got control of the ball when Umberto Salgado tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Carrara FC could leave the field as winners, despite Quadro having more of the ball for most of the match.
