Esquerda SS's Clóvis Neiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Esquerda SS from getting a goal against them. Clóvis Neiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valério Rodrigues in the 8th minute. Ivo Lima hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valério Rodrigues got free with Clóvis Neiva in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Percy Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the game, one of Esquerda SS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 21st play minute Renato Trevisan came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Clóvis Neiva. 1-0. Percy Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Tróia having to interfere. Oswaldo Tróia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percy Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 29th play minutes Percy Brito shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Oswaldo Tróia and just under the crossbar into goal. José Augusto Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Neiva having to interfere. Clóvis Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Berger in the 38th minute of play. Ivo Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. José Augusto Lara's late challenge caught a Esquerda SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Augusto Lara helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 57thth minute of the game Percy Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taquapery SC's Oswaldo Tróia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Percy Brito took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Oswaldo Tróia to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 62 minutes, Valério Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taquapery SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valério Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antônio Carlos Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. When Luciano Berger came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Taquapery SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Berger couldn't finish the play. Clóvis Neiva came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Taquapery SC's Gláuber Barbosa. But to his dismay, Gláuber Barbosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 69th minute, Luciano Berger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clóvis Neiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. A collision led to Taquapery SC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Andrézinho Neves hit a great ball. Esquerda SS's Clóvis Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Rodrigues in the 75th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Percy Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oswaldo Tróia was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulisses Tavares in the 83rd minute of play forced Esquerda SS's goalkeeper Clóvis Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esquerda SS's Percy Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percy Brito in the 89th minute of play forced Taquapery SC's goalkeeper Oswaldo Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Régis Nóbrega could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Oswaldo Tróia made a huge save. José Augusto Lara hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Oswaldo Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esquerda SS were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
