After 17 minutes, Ronaldinho Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caiua and the Viola da Maldade F.S players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Hélder de Azevedo put in a rough tackle. 33 minutes into the game, one of Viola da Maldade F.S:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 39th minute Dagoberto Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Paraibano scored 1-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vítor Bittencourt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes in the game Zé Domingues did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to João Paulo da Costa. The Viola da Maldade F.S players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Caiua were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrézinho Monteiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrézinho Monteiro in the 51st minute of play forced Viola da Maldade F.S's goalkeeper Vivaldo Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Bittencourt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viola da Maldade F.S. 75 minutes into the match, Viola da Maldade F.S's goalkeeper Vivaldo Pernambucano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elder Pombal.
