In the 11th match minute, Fluminense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Velloso to maneuver through the defense. Cai SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Nico Velloso scored to the left of an out of position Maicon Tasso, making the score, 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Cai SC's goal looked a bit too open when David Souza came free, but Maicon Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cai SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when David Souza 17 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. 23 minutes into the match, Cai SC's Michel Mangueira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frederico Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maicon Tasso was a little too slow when David Souza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 3-0. Cai SC's Maicon Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Cai SC from getting a goal against them. Gregorio Lamberto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Tasso having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Caetano Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 43 minutes, Nico Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fluminense FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nico Velloso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nico Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If David Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

After a defensive mix-up in Cai SC's zone, David Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maicon Tasso came out of the goal and David Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If David Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes Cai SC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Paranaense. 63 minutes into the match, Cai SC's goal looked a bit too open when Nico Velloso came free, but Maicon Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alfredinho Paranaense fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cai SC's protests and gave Alfredinho Paranaense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Alfredinho Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner ended in Saša Sovadina almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cai SC's Maicon Tasso did a great save. David Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maicon Tasso having to interfere. David Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maicon Tasso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. Gregorio Lamberto's late challenge caught a Cai SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gregorio Lamberto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Fluminense FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Cai SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredinho Paranaense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frederico Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nico Velloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Maicon Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, David Souza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Maicon Tasso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Fluminense FC's David Souza in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cai SC's goalie prevented a goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fluminense FC fully deserved thier win.
