The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Silvinho Nóbrega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arcos SC and the Itaqua EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tony Saraiva struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Hudson Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arcos SC. When Edinho Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itaqua EC's protests and gave Edinho Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes Itaqua EC got a freekick which was hit by Edinho Loureiro. Hudson Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Saraiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Itaqua EC's Adalberto Coutinho got a free kick in the 9th minute. Itaqua EC's Hudson Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Itaqua EC from getting a goal against them. Daniel Majerowicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Breckenfeld in the 11th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Saraiva in the 13th minute of play forced Itaqua EC's goalkeeper Hudson Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Breckenfeld might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Majerowicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Breckenfeld ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Itaqua EC's Hudson Mendonça got control of the ball when Elder Cerezo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elder Cerezo got free with Hudson Mendonça in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Majerowicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silas Paiva went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Arcos SC's Elder Cerezo got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Arcos SC's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Rosado came free, but Daniel Majerowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Hudson Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elder Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hudson Mendonça having to interfere. After 41 minutes of play Arcos SC's Silvinho Nóbrega was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Silvinho Nóbrega kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Arcos SC defense, Carlos Breckenfeld kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniel Majerowicz. The Arcos SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniel Majerowicz should have stopped the shot.

The supporters of Itaqua EC booed when Arcos SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Cerezo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, Silas Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elder Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Hudson Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute Elder Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Silas Paiva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Daniel Majerowicz, 0-3. Elder Cerezo might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hudson Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elder Cerezo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Elder Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 minutes, Emerson Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arcos SC and the Itaqua EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Arcos SC got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Teixeira. In the 94th minute Silas Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Majerowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Arcos SC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Itaqua EC to win.
