Rolf Ronde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Renatinho Monteiro in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rolf Ronde, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Firmiano SS's Angelo Urbano got a free kick in the 14th minute. Rolf Ronde was a little too slow when Albertino Melo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-0. Jean de Almeida hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Renatinho Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manoel Campidelis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João de Andrade having to interfere. Renatinho Monteiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Rolf Ronde made a huge save. When Arthur de Lara fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Firmiano SS's protests and gave Arthur de Lara a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, Firmiano SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur de Lara to maneuver through the defense. Renatinho Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rolf Ronde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Firmiano SS got a freekick which was hit by Jean de Almeida. Alessandro Bueno hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renatinho Monteiro in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolf Ronde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rolf Ronde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Melo in the 58th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in VASCO DA GAMA's zone, Alessandro Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolf Ronde came out of the goal and Alessandro Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. VASCO DA GAMA's Rolf Ronde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertino Melo in the 71st minute of play. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Firmiano SS fully deserved thier win.
