Afonsinho de Alcântara was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Albertinho Gerber showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. Dráuzio Pimenta was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. Tomás Pontes walked up to take care of the penalty kick. In the 30th minute, one of Chelsea F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chelsea F.C. In the 34th minute, Cláudio Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Otávio Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Douglas Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bandeirante FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Meira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bandeirante FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Chelsea F.C had won, even though Bandeirante FC had held more of the ball.
