Arsenal FC's Marcus Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute Nelson Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes, Glauco Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canastrao SC and the Arsenal FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canastrao SC! If Ediberto Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Manfredo França managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Arsenal FC's Rubinho Vides fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ediberto Breckenfeld in the 39th minute of play forced Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Christiano Araújo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's Rubinho Vides sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manfredo França narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Canastrao SC's Manfredo França got control of the ball when Marcus Almeida tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomás Moreno made in the 44th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Miguel Berger immediately put the ball in play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nelson Barbosa to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Marcus Almeida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Manfredo França was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nelson Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manfredo França read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Rubinho Vides took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manfredo França. Manfredo França dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Rubinho Vides put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Manfredo França. In the 83rd minute Rubinho Vides shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerson da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Canastrao SC's zone, Nelson Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manfredo França came out of the goal and Nelson Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
