The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Cerradolona booed when Formigas SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fertus De Paula came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Cerradolona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fertus De Paula couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Cerradolona's Fertus De Paula ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eliézer Reis. Eliézer Reis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Fertus De Paula in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eliézer Reis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 25th match minute, Formigas SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Fertus De Paula struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Eliézer Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cerradolona. A collision led to Cerradolona getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Emílio Ferraz hit a great ball. After 37 played minutes Formigas SC got a freekick which was hit by Kaká Marinho. Fertus De Paula recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cerradolona's Alejo Estevon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Leite in the 45th minute of play. Remo Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Juvenal Leite made the kick off in the second half. Fertus De Paula took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliézer Reis. Eliézer Reis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The supporters of Formigas SC booed when Cerradolona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Fertus De Paula ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliézer Reis was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Cerradolona made a substitution. Miguel Corrêa replaced Remo Faria. After a defensive mix-up in Formigas SC's zone, Fertus De Paula stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliézer Reis came out of the goal and Fertus De Paula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fertus De Paula took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliézer Reis. Eliézer Reis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. After having played for 78 minutes, Fertus De Paula managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cerradolona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fertus De Paula was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Formigas SC's Eliézer Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio Araújo in the 81st minute of play. Cerradolona's Emílio Ferraz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alfredo Maranhense, made in the 86th minute of the game. A collision led to Formigas SC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Rui Paiva hit a great ball. In the 89th minute of the match Ingolf Aregger shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eliézer Reis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal Leite in the 92nd minute of play forced Cerradolona's goalkeeper Alejo Estevon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cerradolona walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
